Enjoy The Views From Your Car!

Interested in spending your vacation in our Acadia National Park vacation rental home in Winter Harbor, Maine? See our blog entry for rates and contact information at http://www.vacationrentalmaine.com/2015/11/acadia-national-park-maine-vacation.html

There are miles and miles of hiking and biking trails in the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park, ranging from super easy to challenging, but sometimes it's too cold, too rainy, too snowy or too hot to get out and walk or hike, or maybe a physical ailment makes it difficult to get around... Well, fear not!

.

The Schoodic section of Acadia National Park in Winter Harbor, Maine, is a place where you can still reap plenty of enjoyment right from the seat of your vehicle.

.

The Schoodic Loop road (entrance less than a mile from the house) provides many opportunities for viewing dramatic scenery without any more legwork than it takes to use the gas and brake pedals. I don't know of any other route on the northeast coast that provides as many miles of direct, bold oceanfront road, with countless vistas of the rockbound coast of Maine.

.

In order to demonstrate this, when my husband and I stayed at the Winter Harbor house October 28 - Nov. 3, I drove the Schoodic Loop with my camera and stopped to take photos ONLY FROM INSIDE THE CAR. The following photos were taken from inside my car during two different days, while driving the Schoodic Loop road.

Enjoy these shots of the beautiful scenery available during all 4 seasons and without physical exertion! (My camera is a simple Nikon Coolpix pocket camera.) Click each photo for a larger view. Check back for more and better photos after our next visit.
